Antioxidant Smoothie Recipe

I hope you are all enjoying this glorious summer!  It’s hard to believe that it’s the end of august; it feels like the summer weather only started last week – wait, it did. Regardless, soak it up while you can.  To me the heat makes me feel less like whipping up a big pot of stew and more like tossing a simple salad together.  I have been on a smoothie kick again, and those of you who took part in the 14-day detox last year know that I have a thing for smoothies!  Ok I admit that some of the recipes were a little over the top, but they had good bones and were certainly nutritious.  I still make a few of the recipes and add them into my day for a mid morning or mid afternoon snack.

Here is one of my favourite recipes; its quite refreshing and the ingredients are easy to get this time of year.  Pomegranate juice provides extreme antioxidant power and you can always throw in some green tea for more!



½ cup blueberries

½ cup strawberries

½ cup blackberries

1 cup coconut water

1 cup pomegranate juice

1 tsp flaxseed or chia seeds

2 cups ice


Process in blender and enjoy!
