How much time ?

How much time should I give to yoga? How long will it take to learn yoga?

These are some of the first questions I hear from my new yoga students.

Our days are rushed, from one thing to another. Kids, rents, work….we feel we have little or no time for the things we want or need! Time has always been precious, but all too often we allow our lives to become “stressed”.

Yoga will certainly help with this stress!

It’s a life-‐long process of living and learning that nurtures our lives and enriches the quality of the time we have on this earth.

There will always be new types of yoga, but the essence of yoga is the same. Its been time tested for thousands of years. It is always immediate, and it will continue to grow with the flow of our lives. Our bodies are constantly changing and so must our yoga…Take your time and adjust, not only from day to day but through the many stages of a lifetime.

Take time for yourself!

Making time for a yoga practice, means respecting yourself enough to dedicate some time each and every day for your own well being. Start with setting your clock 15 mins earlier or take those few minutes before you go to bed. Do a few light stretches and focus on your breath. “Calm your busy mind” When we take care of our ourselves, we have more abundant energy for those around us.

You wouldn’t leave your house without brushing your teeth…it’s a good habit! You wash your face before you go to bed..another good habit. We are creatures of habits! Let yoga become a part of your life long habit…start with just a few minutes a day.

Before you know it you’ll be building a longer practice. Your body and mind will thank you!

Yoga doesn’t take time - it gives time!
